Are Baggy Jeans the Right Fit for You? |
|
|
I can remember blue jeans being in style during my whole life. All the
styles generally seem to fit everyone, although some of them have
changed from time to time. For instance, bell bottoms have been coming
and going and jeans are getting tighter or looser but they are still in
style. After all, the whole point in blue jeans is that they have this
timeless look based on comfort and cut.
However, the current style seems so silly to me. I just cannot understand the baggy jeans look. Of course, I've worn somewhat baggy jeans before and I found them comfortable. However, the baggy jeans I wore were not ridiculously huge but just big enough to make me feel comfortable. The idea was that if you look and feel comfortable, then people will feel comfortable looking at you.
Today’s baggy jeans are just ridiculous. Some baggy men's jeans are so big that those who wear have to hold onto them around the belt constantly. The jeans will fall down around their ankles if they let go. Some baggy women's jeans are also made so large and styled in such a way, that there is no way to tell whether they are jeans or a denim skirt.
I have also seen people wearing designer jeans that are many sizes too large for them. I really don’t see the point of that. Designer jeans are supposed to be custom tailored to fit the wearer as well as possible. You are just wasting your money if you are just wearing them as baggy jeans. You can simply purchase any cheap pair of huge jeans if you want to wear jeans that don't fit you right and hang down around your ankles.
I guess I was wrong when I thought that baggy jeans would go the way of Hammer pants in a few years. I could not imagine people wearing them for a long time because they seemed like such a silly idea. I thought that the teenagers who wore baggy jeans today would soon laugh at themselves and wonder how they could've gotten into a style that was so ridiculous. I guess that I did not realize that teens will do anything to fit in.
